English Lesson plan for class 3

Topic:- I love colours

General aims:-

·         To develop the interest of the student in English subject.

·         To develop the imaginative faculty of the students.

·         To inspire the students for writing poetry

·       To develop reading and writing skill in the students.

Required teaching material:-

               Chalk,  duster,  blackboard,  chart,  model,  audio-visual aids.

Previous knowledge:-

The students has little knowledge about the  colours.

Teaching methods:-

Ø  Direct method to improve their oral skill by repetitive drilling.

Ø  Question-answer method.

Ø  Community language learning to explain the meaning of the poem to the students in their mother tongue.

Ø  Demonstration method.

Ø  Grammar  translation method.

Introductory questions:-

Introduction of the topic:-

Today we will recite the poem   I LOVE THE COLOURS.

Presentation:-

I love colours

Yes ,  I do!

               Red and orange

              Green and blue

I love  colours,

Dark and bright

               Yellow and purple

                Black and white.

Model reading by the teacher:-   The teacher reads poem aloud with correct pronunciation, rhythem  and accent while the students  look in to their books.

Remedial reading by the students

The teacher will ask the students to read the poem aloud one by one and improve their reading skill.

Pronunciation:- the teacher will write the difficult words on the blackboard and ask the students one by one.  Mispronunced  words corrected by teacher.

Class work and supervision:-

The teacher will instruct the student  to pen down the word-meaning  of the words taken from the poem from the blackboard meanwhile  teacher will take a round in the class and observe the student.
