Duration: 45–60 minutes
I. Learning Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

Analyze the character shift in the Mango Tree (from selfish to appreciative).
Expand their vocabulary with terms like harmony, demon, and rigid.
Practice reading comprehension through answering textual questions.
II. Key Vocabulary
III. Lesson Procedure
1. Introduction & Warm-up (5 mins)
Discussion: Ask the students: "Have you ever needed help from someone you didn't like at first?" or "Do trees and animals need each other?"
Concept Hook: Introduce the idea of Symbiosis (how different living things help each other survive).
2. Reading & Analysis (15 mins)
Shared Reading: Read the first page aloud. Highlight the conflict: The Mango tree dislikes the animals, while the Banyan tree values them.
The Turning Point: Read the second page. Focus on the moment the woodcutters arrive and the Mango tree realizes it is vulnerable without the "demons" (animals) it tried to scare away.
Character Study:
Banyan Tree: Wise, kind, and understands the balance of nature.
Mango Tree: Proud and impulsive, but learns a hard lesson.
3. Interactive Activity: "What if?" (10 mins)
Divide the class into small groups.
Ask them to discuss: "What would have happened if the Banyan tree hadn't called for help?" or "How would the story change if the animals never came back?"
IV. Comprehension Check (Based on Textbook Questions)
Use the questions from page 13 of your image to test understanding:

कहानी का सार (Hindi Translation)
