परिचय:
करिश्मा एक प्यारी सी गाँव की लड़की है। वह ढोलकपुर नाम के एक छोटे से गाँव में अपने दादा-दादी के साथ रहती है। वह अपनी नानी को बहुत प्यार करती है। एक बार, उसकी प्यारी नानी उसे पास के शहर गाजीपुर में एक जादू का शो दिखाने ले जाती हैं।
(वे हॉल में प्रवेश करते हैं।)
करिश्मा: वाह, हॉल कितना रंगीन है!
नानी: हाँ, हॉल बहुत बड़ा है और चमकीले रंगों से सजाया गया है।
करिश्मा: मैं जादू देखने के लिए बहुत उत्साहित हूँ।
नानी: मैं भी।
करिश्मा: ओह मेरे भगवान! उन्होंने लाइटें बंद कर दी हैं। मुझे कुछ दिखाई नहीं दे रहा है। चारों ओर अंधेरा है।
नानी: शांत रहो और स्टेज की तरफ देखो। वहाँ एक मद्धम रोशनी है।
(शो की शुरुआत 'गणेश वंदना' से होती है।)
करिश्मा: नानी देखो, उन्होंने कितनी खूबसूरती से कपड़े पहने हैं!
नानी: हाँ प्रिय।
करिश्मा: बीच में वह मोटा आदमी कौन है?
नानी: (उस आदमी की ओर इशारा करते हुए) वह आदमी जिसने नीले रंग का सूट पहना है और जिसके हाथ में जादू की छड़ी है।
करिश्मा: हाँ नानी।
नानी: वह एक जादूगर है। वह जादू के करतब दिखाता है।
(जादूगर दर्शकों को एक खाली जादुई डिब्बा दिखाता है और कुछ मंत्र बोलता है। उसमें से लाल, गुलाबी, हरे, पीले, नारंगी रंग के साटन के रिबन और अलग-अलग फूलों की पंखुड़ियाँ निकलने लगती हैं।)
करिश्मा: यह कितना अद्भुत है!
नानी: हाँ, यह है।
(जादूगर करिश्मा को स्टेज पर बुलाता है और उससे दस रुपये का सिक्का लेता है। वह अपना हाथ बंद करता है और कुछ जपता (मंत्र बोलता) है। सिक्का गायब हो जाता है।)
करिश्मा: मेरा सिक्का कहाँ है?
जादूगर: (हँसते हुए) कौन सा सिक्का?
करिश्मा: वही जो मैंने तुम्हें दिया था।
जादूगर: नहीं, तुमने मुझे कोई सिक्का नहीं दिया है। अपनी जेब में देखो।
(उसके आश्चर्य का ठिकाना नहीं रहता, उसे सिक्का अपनी जेब में मिल जाता है। हर कोई तालियाँ बजाता है। एक के बाद एक जादूगर ने कई करतब दिखाए। लोग मंत्रमुग्ध रह गए।)
करिश्मा: नानी, वह इसे कितने अच्छे से करता है!
नानी: हाँ, इसीलिए तो वह एक जादूगर है।
